Applications for school year 2025-2026 are accepted until 20 January 2025. You may submit your application in advance at any time.
Admission Dates 2025–2026
- Monday 20 January: Application period for school year 2025-2026 ends
- Saturday 1 March: Results sent to all applicants’ guardians.
- Tuesday 1 April by 23:55hrs: Last day to confirm the acceptance of the offered school place by email to toimisto@ekk.fi
Admission to Basic Education
The application process to classes 1 to 9 in Basic Education starts by filling in the contact form on the EKK website (see bottom of this page). After the initial contact we will send you a link to our application form. The application form must be submitted no later than 20 January at 23:55 hrs.
All applicants and guardians will be interviewed. The interview will take place between 8:00 and 17:00 hrs. You will receive an invitation to the interview by email. The applicants to grades 2 to 6 will be interviewed only if there are openings.
All school places have been filled for the school year 2024–2025. For school year 2025-2026 there will be very few openings in 1stgrade and a large number in 7th grade. As for the other grades, there is limited availability. We will admit new pupils if places become available.
We will inform all applicants by 1 March 2025. The acceptance of the study place must be confirmed by 1 April 2024.
Admission to Bilingual Classes (25% in English)
The application process to bilingual classes starts by filling in the contact form on the EKK website (see bottom of this page). After the initial contact we will send you a link to our application form. The application form must be submitted no later than 20 January at 23:55 hrs.
The pupils to the bilingual classes will be selected on the basis of an aptitude test that evaluates linguistic abilities. In the test there is a section in Finnish and in English. The Finnish section carries more weight in marking, but the applicant may get extra points in the English section.
The possibilities for admission in other grades (2 to 4) than 1st grade are slim, as new pupils are accepted only if there are openings.
The aptitude tests for the bilingual grades take place after the application period has ended. Further information and schedule will be published later.
The results will be sent by email to all applicants’ guardians by 1 March 2025.

Admissions
We interview all applicants with their guardians. The aim of the interview is to learn to know the applicant and to tell the family about the school and its instruction to give them a clear understanding of the school and what Christian education means.
Selection criteria
Applicants who are not in the EKK preschool or in our 6th grade are given points according to the following:
- Date of application
- Residency in Espoo
- Siblings in EKK
- Returning former pupil who has been away temporarily (e.g. family moved elsewhere because of work)
Furthermore, the applicants to a bilingual class take an aptitude test in addition to an interview. Those who pass the aptitude test are given points as above.
If there more applicants meeting the criteria than there are openings, the date of application is the decisive factor.
As a prerequisite for admission in EKK is the guardians’ and the pupil’s acceptance of EKK’s educational emphases and Christian values.
As a prerequisite for admission in our Kindergarten is the guardians’ acceptance of a Christian Kindergarten’s educational foundation, aims and Christian values. The guardian must confirm the offered place in the Kindergarten by the set date.
